5 startup business events to attend in 2016

Every year there are hundreds of different start-up events that happen all over the UK. Some are awesome and genuinely useful – others not so much.

As such, our team looked far and wide and travelled to the deepest depths of the startup event world, to narrow it down to the top five startup events we believe every UK entrepreneur should attend this year.

Note: I’m sure there are plenty more great events out there, but no one likes lists longer than five!

The Business Show

After running for 12 years the business show is one of the UK’s leading business exhibitions. The events includes over 25,000 businesses that are hoping to showcase their services and and expand their business. The business show is a good way to promote yourself in a room full of potential customers.

Hackference/Hackathon

The Hackference weekend is a yearly event that inspires developers to hack. On the first day, attendees can look forward to a cast of great speakers, covering various topics ranging from API’s to languages and paradigms. Then, over the remaining two days, you have the Hackathon; where developers get to meet and engage in collaborative computer programming. Cool people. Cool ideas.

Technology Week London

Technology Week London started in 2014 and has included over 400 events from around the world; you could call it a festival of events. The event represents the technology ecosystem and last year alone they had over 43,000 attendees over the course of the week. You are able to pick and choose what events you chose to go to whether it be about startups, marketing or IoT. There’s a lot to choose from so take a look on the website to decide what events would be best suited for you and when they are being held.

Venturefest

Venturefest events connects investors, innovators and entrepreneurs, enabling science and technology to generate greater economic impact in the the UK. Venturefest events provide networking opportunities for business owners as well as stimulating ideas and funding options to entrepreneurs and start-ups particularly in the science knowledge and technology fields. There are different Venturefest events all over the UK so take a look at their website to make sure you know where your local one will be.

Apps World

Apps world bring together startups and entrepreneurs to meet with investors and a range of other people that come together to discuss innovative trends in technology. Each year brings over 10,000 attendees and over 350 exhibitors. With the diversity of people in attendance you are sure to get a range of different innovative ideas and insight.
